This period cottage had to have the fireplace fitted and the existing brickwork was removed and structural chimney work was carried out. All by MKfireplaces.

 

 

 

 

 

The original fireplace had brick surrounds which were removed.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The restructuring preserved the chimney breast. The hearth was replaced and fireplace exposed.

 

 

 

 

 

The new design of the fireplace began, with structural re building in keeping with the period and design of the cottage. The chimney was reinforced with two lintels one at the front and one at the back.

 

 

 

 

 

A multi fuel stove, with flue pipe and closure plate was fitted. A twin wall solid fuel flexible liner and air vent. The finishing touch is the oak beam mantelpiece.
